Our Mission Statement

“Preparing young minds for now and eternity!"

Seventh-day Adventist Christian education has as its goal the spiritual, mental, and physical development of children and youth. Greater Memphis Adventist Academy is established to aid in the restoration of God's image in our students. Greater Memphis Adventist Academy is dedicated to adequately preparing students to meet the academic challenges of high school and college, instilling Christian principles in our students so that they may be good and contributing community citizens, and engaging our students in service and witnessing opportunities. Through daily classes, devotions, assemblies, field trips, community service projects, and other school sponsored activities, the transmission of Seventh-day Adventist Christian ideals, beliefs, attitudes, values, habits, and customs are instilled.
We want our students to know Jesus Christ as their personal Friend and Savior, prepare to meet Him in peace at His Second Coming, and while we await His coming, be sharp tools in His hand to bless the world we live in.

PHILOSOPHY

The Seventh-day Adventist Church recognizes that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the earth and the entire universe. He is the source of knowledge and wisdom. In His image,God created man as a perfect being. Because of sin, man lost his original estate. Christian education, by perfecting faith in Christ, restores in man the image of his Maker, nurtures in man an intelligent dedication to the work of God on earth, and develops in man a practical preparation for conscientious service to his fellow men.
The church believes that teachers in its schools are servants of God and their students are children of God. The Seventh-day Adventist Church operates a worldwide school system to ensure that its youth may receive a balanced physical, mental, moral, social, and practical education. This education harmonizes with denominational standards and ideals. God is the source of all moral values and truth. The stated interest of the church is in the optimum development of the whole child for both this life and the life hereafter.
The educational program of the church gives primary emphasis to character building and to the spiritual foundation of the life of its children and youth. Moreover, it makes abundant provision for the acquisition and interpretation of that which is appropriate from the store of secular knowledge and skills for mental, social, vocational, and physical development.
Greater Memphis Adventist Academy is one of approximately 5,000 schools from kindergarten through graduate school operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The basic general philosophy of Seventh-day Adventism is deeply rooted in our local school. It is expected that any child that enrolls in GMAA will live up to the standards of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
